TK001 Vintage Georg Jensen Tuk Fischer sterling
silver with gold bracelet; circa 1963 This ingenious design by Tuk Fischer overlaps scores of shimmering concave ‘petals’ around the wrist, creating an explosion of light, movement and reflection. Each concave piece is meticulously shaped, precisely curved and arrayed in graduated rows along two curving bands encircling the wrist. Cleverly concealed hook clasp maintains the bracelet’s ruffled symmetry. Tuk Fischer trained as a goldsmith but creates in many different media from metal to paper; genres including drawing, painting, bronze sculptures and church vestments; she began working as a designer for Georg Jenson in 1962. Fischer’s jewelry has been featured in exhibits and collections around the world, including Georg Jensen’s Centennial exhibition in London in 1966, The Brisbane in Australia and Toronto’s Royal Ontario Museum. |
