Elegant and organic "wedding necklace," a drop-dead gorgeous confection conceived by master silversmith Sam Patania as "a beautiful piece for a beautiful woman to wear." Taking as inspiration the early, organic designs of his renowned grandfather Frank Patania, Sr., the artist achieves a sinuous feminine feel where the pieces join, incorporating sterling silver bead wire, wrapped wire, fluted tubes and wound silver links carrying gracefully right through the chain to breathtaking result. This showstopper has been entirely handmade right down to its hand hammered clasp: no shortcuts. The artist used a live model to form the piece, carefully placing each element to make sure it will hang properly and the main focal points fall exactly where the eye should behold them. Each floral petal was painstakingly fashioned from a flat sheet of silver, cut, bent, hammered, soldered, filed, buffed and rolled at the ends; brilliant natural coral cabochons set in handmade bezels punctuate the sprays. This necklace carries so many special touches that personalize a piece and make a world of difference to its wearer. The Huntress adores the little bit of coral accenting the chain and the fact that the artist has hallmarked it using gold.
