MC001 Vintage Milton Cavagnaro sterling silver
pendant on original cord; circa 1950s to 1970s During the Beat Generation, San Francisco became a creative crucible for artists looking to experiment with new forms of poetry, music, painting, sculpture and metalwork. Trained as an architect but applying his skills to silver, Milton Cavagnaro opened his jewelry studio in the mid-‘40s, featuring striking and original designs. Like Metal Arts Guild founder and fellow member Margaret De Patta, Cavagnaro’s stripped-down pieces display simple lines and deconstructed forms. Rare and highly collectible today, all Cavagnaro pieces are one of a kind. |
