HK003 Georg Jensen / Henning Koppel ‘Amoeba’ sterling
silver Modernist necklace #89, designed late 1940’s, SOLD Henning Koppel, a seminal innovator of the modern Jensen style,
studied sculpture at the Royal Academy of Arts and the Academie
Ranson in Paris, and this early training shows in his wonderfully
sculptural 'Amoeba.' The ‘Amoeba’ is one
of Koppel's most recognized designs for Georg Jensen, highly sought
after and no longer in production. This design is featured
on the cover of Janet Drucker's definitive and lavishly illustrated
'Georg Jensen: A Tradition of Splendid Silver,' and appears again
on page 154. |
