HK001 Georg Jensen / Henning Koppel ‘Amoeba’ bracelet
#89 in sterling silver, designed circa late 1940s, SOLD Henning Koppel, a seminal innovator of the modern Jensen style,
studied sculpture at the Royal Academy of Arts and the Academie
Ranson in Paris, and this early training shows in his wonderfully
sculptural 'Amoeba.' The ‘Amoeba’ for Georg
Jensen is one of Koppel's most recognized designs, highly sought
after and no longer in production. The 'Amoeba' is featured
on the cover of Janet Drucker's definitive and lavishly illustrated
'Georg Jensen: A Tradition of Splendid Silver,' and appears again
on page 154. |
