FPJR04 Vintage Frank Patania Jr. sterling silver and faceted smoky quartz bracelet, circa mid-‘70s In the mid 1970s, Frank Jr. was included in several modern exhibitions in which some of his most exciting designs of this period were featured. This bracelet and a similar one seen in “Patania: 70 Years of Excellence, Part II of II” by Shari Watson Miller were featured designs. It wholly exhibits Frank’s description of his creative process: “My work is basically a contemporary style using the architectural technique of fabrication, like building a bridge. Each piece, rather that being cast as a whole, is the sum of the parts, fitted to achieve the end result." Every aspect of this bracelet is a testament to the precision only a master craftsman can achieve. It is audacious in presentation yet its beauty is timeless…the design as contemporary now as it was in the 1970s. This is an amazing bracelet representing the artist’s ability to turn basic geometric shapes into multi-dimensional ‘high art’…a ‘must have’ for the serious collector. (Frank Jr. has created a website to showcase the designs of which he is most proud and this bracelet is included. Visit www.frankpatania.com to see his lifetime achievements.) |
