CT002 - Vintage Carl Tasha one-of-a-kind anodized bronze and amber-like stones necklace, circa-1970’s, SOLD Origin: Provincetown, MA Carl Tasha has been making jewelry since he was 16 years old. He is now over age 60 and focuses on sculpture over jewelry. A local fixture in the Provincetown, MA artist community, Carl continues to produce spectacular works for a loyal and growing fan base. While he doesn’t classify his work as Modernist, Carl has worked with and around some of the great Modernist artists who used to split their time between studios in NYC’s Greenwich Village and the colorful seaside artists’ community in Provincetown. This spectacular tableau piece begs for a closer look. One can see woodland sprites, pine cones, hints of autumn leaves…the forest primeval. The front piece is substantial, intricate and spectacular in the way it cascades off the collarbone to spill down across the chest. Wearable art that demands an audience and a person with a sense of the dramatic to pull it off. If you enjoy pure fantasy and love to make jaws drop when you enter the room, then you are the person for this piece. |
