WS006  William Spratling sterling silver block and disk “Double Bamboo” bracelet, circa-1960’s, SOLD
Origin:  Taxco, Mexico
Dimensions:  7.25”L, 1”W; 96.8 gm
Condition:  Excellent

A wonderfully Art Deco-influenced bracelet, William Spratling's "Double Bamboo" design features the applied silver disks which characterized much of Spratling's work during the Third Design Period.  A variation of this design (with carved amethyst cones in place of the applied silver disks) appears in Fig. 391, page 252 of Penny Morrill's lavishly illustrated "William Spratling and the Mexican Silver Renaissance". This Double Bamboo bracelet is solid in construction, spare and elegantly understated, in a larger size that is extremely comfortable to wear. Looks fabulous on the wrist!
