SP010 Vintage Sigi Pineda sterling silver and stone modernist hinged bracelet, circa-1950s to 1970s A cool swath of polished jadeite draws the eye to this boldly angled bracelet. This indigenous stone was exalted by Mayan and Aztec cultures as a stone of magic, calling forth protective forces in times of need. A status symbol owned only by the elite, it was said to facilitate peace, transmute negativity, and bring the wearer into harmony with the natural world. The perfect complement to Sigi’s obsidian necklace (see SP004) and the reversible Sigi earrings (SP002), this sophisticated cuff with its softly muted cabochon is comfortable to wear, calming, classic and collectible. |
