SP004 Vintage Sigi Pineda sterling silver and fleck obsidian hinged necklace, circa-1950s to 1970s Big silver sheen obsidian showcased in Sigi's asymmetrical sleek swoop of a collar. Spellbinding in its simplicity, so comfortable to wear you easily forget you have it on. Silver sheen obsidian was valued by the shaman as a gazing stone, and is said to assist in bringing the wearer "the advantage" throughout life. The stone served as a soul mirror enabling the gazer to penetrate to the root of a problem, using the information to guide her progress toward self-actualization. It connected the physical and astral bodies, enabling shamanic shapeshifters to travel through mystical realms and return safely. Sigi's design unites the mysterious with the Modernist to powerful effect. |
