Blooming buttercups encircle the base of the throat and adorn the earlobes, surrounding the face with a rich yellow glow.  Many of Margot’s enamel designs called for gold leaf applied below the enamel surface to add depth and brilliance to the color – as is the case for this set.  Margot loved flowers and was keenly observant of botanical form.  When traveling to sell her jewelry designs, she would occasionally stop the car to look closely at unusual roadside flowers with her magnifying glass, which always accompanied her. Margot has made this simple floral motif fascinating by brilliant colors and such textural details as the delicately stippled anthers and the smooth silver veining in the leaves.  This charming set stands testament to the artist’s eye for fleeting beauty and her passion for translating this vision into eternally lovely adornment.
