Taxco / Mexican Vintage Jewelry

MT073  Vintage Margot de Taxco sterling silver, green and yellow enamel ‘Grape Cluster’ bracelet; circa-1955 to 1978
Origin:  Taxco, Mexico
Dimensions:  7.25" x .75"; 60.4 gm total
Condition:  Excellent – under magnification, the intensely yellow grapes show no enamel loss.  The leaves are repousse with high points so there is thin enamel as part of the firing process and the normal wear patterns on the high areas.  A few points of the leaves show enamel loss.  Additional photos available.
Provenance:  To be published in Penny Morrill’s upcoming book on Margot van Voorhies Carr – Margot de Taxco
Price: SOLD

In heraldry, grapes are a symbol of good luck.  Margot's luxe bracelet intensifies the grapes' property of attractive abundance through her lavish use of rich yellow enamel layered on gold leaf.  The ripe bursting golden bunches shimmer delectably against enfolding pale green and silver leaves, a mesmerizing combination of form and color that will hold the eye in fascination.  A collector's dream in near-mint condition, it is a show-stopper to wear!
