Condition: Very Good to Excellent given age and the fact this IS enamel!!! All clasps fully functional. Safety chain on bracelet original. No noted repairs. Enamel loss consistent with age and NORMAL use. Under magnification, small spots noted and following numbers are approximates: Necklace – nose and chin plus 4 other spots of loss. Bracelet – approximately 5 small spots of loss. Belt main section – 8 small spots of loss (mostly around posts that swivel). Belt addition – 8 small spots of loss. Each snake wears a bejeweled collar, which does not in the least domesticate her, but only intensifies her baleful onyx gaze. A tiny forked tongue protrudes as she contemplates striking her next victim, suddenly and with devastating finality. Margot's enamel work is a tour de force, with the snakes' scales individually delineated in textured silver, then painstakingly filled with shimmering layers of green, gold and deep turquoise. Overall the enamel on this set is in excellent condition, with small spots of loss here and there consistent with age. (We will be happy to provide detailed photos on request). The belt -- a piece almost never seen -- was made in sections, lending itself to many viperish looks. Necklace and bracelet, worn alone or together, guaranteed to stop all viewers dead in their tracks. An exceptional, complete Snake set, the epitome of drop-dead glamour!
