HA046 Vintage Hector Aguilar 940 silver ‘Pyramid’ bracelet,
circa-1940s The mysterious Pyramid of the Sun rising from the ruins of an abandoned ancient city has awed beholders for centuries. The Aztecs regarded Teotihuacan as the place where the sun itself was created, holding it sacred as a place of pilgrimage. The Pyramid was lavishly restored in 1910 to celebrate Mexican independence; more extensive excavations were carried out in post-War years when Aguilar conceived this fabulously textural, repeated flat pyramid motif. Its bold geometry draws the gaze, and the surface invites touch, imparting a patina that just gets better with age! One of Aguilar’s most classic and wearable designs, tough-sexy uber-cool chic that looks great, wherever, whenever. |
