HA043 Vintage Hector Aguilar 940 silver ‘V-chain’ necklace
with sterling silver azurite pendant, circa-1940s Mrs. Peacock did it ... in the conservatory ... with Hector's V Chain/Azurite necklace! Aguilar's lethally beautiful design sports a stunning, peacock-hued azurite gemstone bezel-set and framed by a niello'ed silver arc and beads. The pendant is removable, cunningly enabling a different look (and perhaps how our lovely perpetrator escaped the scene?) The size of the huge gemstone dangle is perfectly balanced by the intricately incised 'V' chain, exuding edgy chic as it spikes around the base of the throat. This iconic masterpiece, pictured with an amethyst pendant in Penny Morrill's Silver Masters of Mexico as Plate I-51, is celebrated as one of Aguilar's most dangerously intriguing designs. Wear it, but look out ... it's amazingly comfortable to wear and will draw fascinated gazes like moths to the flame. Killer in any serious collection. |
