HA003 - Vintage Hector Aguilar 940 silver (a higher grade than sterling silver) V-Chain necklace/bracelet set with amethyst pendant, circa-1940’s to 1950’s, SOLD

Origin:  Taxco, Mexico
Dimensions:  Necklace – 16 1/4”L, 3/4”W, 134 gm (w/pendant)
Bracelet – 7 1/2”L, 3/4”W, 69 gm
Pendant – 2 ¼”H, 1 ¼”W
Condition: Excellent

An important, museum quality demi-parure by Hector Aguilar, and one of his most recognized designs as documented in Morrill and Berk’s “Mexican Silver”, Plate VII-15, and again in Penny C. Morrill’s “Silver Masters of Mexico”, Plate I-51.  Intricately constructed with a huge, deep purple amethyst quartz pendant, the necklace wears comfortably against the neckline.  The classic V-chain bracelet is a generous 7 ½ inches.  Clasps are secure.
