Fred Davis’s stunning signature amethyst and silver “Chevron” set was first designed c. 1930.  It is featured in “Mexican Silver” Plate II-14, by Morrill and Berk.  This exceptionally rare set bears the eagle stamp for Sanborn’s, a department store in Mexico City in which Fred Davis managed the antiques and fine crafts department for over 20 years; it has been authenticated as Fred Davis by virtue of craftsmanship, construction, hallmark graphics and the very important Sanborn’s eagle hallmark.  A superb, high Art Deco look from the glory days of Taxco that is breathtaking to wear!
